It seems that in the blink of an eye, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle went from being a media sensation to constantly being attacked by the tabloids. No matter what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex choose to do, it is almost as if they can’t catch a break. Whether Duchess Meghan is being criticized for her skills as a new mother or both of them are coming under fire for traveling by private jet, it would appear as it if there is always something going on.
In the beginning, the royal couple may have simply looked in the other direction in order to try and avoid the negativity. However, it has recently gotten so out of hand that they simply can’t ignore it anymore: There are even reports of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry moving to Canada in order to escape the drama of the entire situation.
But there are reasons to believe even a move to Canada won’t spare the duke and duchess from their living nightmare.
What exactly is going on with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?
Just a short time ago, fans, as well as the news media, couldn’t get enough of Prince Harry and Markle. Then, suddenly, the tables turned, and they found themselves constantly in the tabloids for one thing or another.
Elle reports that Markle was warned by her British friends that tabloids would “ruin her entire life,” and she chose not to listen. Now, she realizes that they are right.
Luckily, Prince Harry is defending his wife, even releasing a statement regarding the abuse and harassment that she is dealing with. Tabloids are making subtle references to Markle’s mixed-race heritage, and also questioning her role within the royal family.
It is only natural that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry want to get away from all of the drama, which is why they may be considering relocating to another country altogether.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just moved into Frogmore Cottage
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are a famously private couple, and for a while, they were living in Nottingham Cottage — a small property on the grounds of Kensington Palace. It was thought that the duke and duchess would move into a large, 21-room apartment right next door to Kate Middleton and Prince William, and everyone was shocked when instead, they left London altogether in favor of a quieter life in the countryside of Windsor, England.
Shortly before the birth of their son, Archie Harrison, the couple took residence at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle. According to Town & Country, the property underwent extensive renovations to the tune of over $3 million dollars.
This wouldn’t have been such a huge deal had Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry paid the bill out of their own pocket, but they did not. Instead, public funds were used to cover the cost of the lavish upgrades, and not everyone was happy about it. This is another reason that Meghan and Harry have been condemned recently in the British tabloids.
Why moving to Canada won’t solve Meghan and Harry’s problems?
So, will a fresh start in a new country help the Duke and Duchess of Sussex? Probably not. The tabloids can report stories on them no matter where they are, and they will most likely be attacked even more if they leave Frogmore Cottage after using taxpayer money to revamp the home.
Chances are, royal fans and the news media will find a way to bash the couple even if they are living in a different place. Especially if they use taxpayer money for their move and a new home in Canada.
There is no doubt Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are under a lot of pressure and want to get away from it. However, leaving England is not necessarily a quick fix to their problem.
