'Teen Mom 2': Is Jenelle Evans Still Marketable? - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

The media coverage of Jenelle Evans has only ramped up since she was ousted from the Teen Mom 2 cast. While the mother of three and her husband fought to regain custody of their kids, she was also working behind the scenes on a makeup business. Former fans of the troubled reality star worked to thwart the effort,  but it looks like all systems are go. It’s possible that the disgraced teen mom even has a collaboration forthcoming. So, is Jenelle Evans still marketable?

What is Jenelle Evans working on?

Evans has been talking about starting a makeup brand for years. In fact, the social media addict has a tweet pinned from 2018 that features one of her products. The entire concept went up in flames when her paperwork didn’t go through, but now she seems to be working harder than ever to get the line off the ground.

It seems that losing custody of the kids made it a little easier for Evans to head out of town to take business meetings. She and her husband, David Eason, were spotted in Washington DC twice while their children were in temporary homes. While some assumed it was a mini-vacation, Evans was allegedly in meetings about her makeup line. Eason, apparently, was just along for the ride.

According to Pop Culture, the mother of three is expected to roll out the line on September 7, with a private launch party taking place sometime over the summer. Rumors are also swirling that the troubled star is planning to collaborate with a fashion brand, although the brand remains unnamed.

Is Jenelle still marketable?

Many fans of the Teen Mom franchise largely believed Evans’ career was dead and over. That might still be true for television, but it looks like she might be finding a different avenue for success. If rumors are true that she’ll be collaborating with a fashion brand, it sends a clear message that businesses aren’t afraid to deal with her. According to TMZ, the collaboration will coincide with the release of the line. According to one source, Jenelle is considered marketable in a business sense.

While it’s been reported that Evans’ has been blacklisted from television, that blacklisting might have more to do with Eason than Evans. Eason has proven himself to be a danger to all those around him. The state of North Carolina seems to think he’s perfectly safe, but MTV didn’t. The production company refused to film in his presence months before he shot and killed the family dog. If Evans were to leave Eason, a television career might be possible again.

Jenelle’s website still isn’t owned by her team

Evans might be ready to launch her line, but the team behind the business are going to need to do some fancy footwork when it comes to her website. The JEcosmeticsinc domain, the one that once housed Evans’ products, has been purchased out from under her. An animal rights group purchased the domain shortly after they realized Evans’ lease had expired. They will have full rights over the domain for one year.

The former shopping site now houses information about animal rights and pet adoption resources. A ticker also shares the most recent news about Evans, along with notes from Nugget. Nugget is the 12lb French bulldog Eason attacked and killed after it allegedly snapped at the couple’s 2-year-old daughter.

Eason attempted to justify his actions by suggesting he was “protecting” his child. An investigation is still ongoing into the dog’s death. Eason could potentially face charges.
