Prince Harry Recently Threw Major Shade At Prince William's Family — Now He's Eating His Words - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

It is common knowledge that Prince William and Prince Harry have always been close. The two princes are only three years apart in age, and throughout their lives, they’ve supported each other through some good times and through bad as well. When Princess Diana tragically and unexpectedly passed away when Prince Harry and Prince William were barely into their teen years, they leaned on each other for comfort. This is why royal fans always felt that there was virtually nothing that could come between them.

In recent months, we have heard rumors of tension between the two princes. According to Cosmopolitan, it all began when Prince William sat down with his younger brother early in his relationship with Meghan Markle and expressed concern that the relationship may be moving too fast. Apparently, Prince Harry was extremely offended and even accused Prince William of trying to ruin things for him and Markle.

Just when it seemed that everything was getting back to normal between the brothers, Prince Harry threw major shade at Prince William’s family, and now he’s eating his words.

Before Prince William was married, Prince Harry was third in line for the throne. Although he most likely knew that chances were he would never be king, he was still pretty far up in the line of succession. The birth of the three Cambridge children has bumped Prince Harry down to sixth in line.

Despite this, the Duke of Sussex appears to have a close relationship with his two nephews and his niece. The older children, George and Charlotte, served as a pageboy and bridesmaid in Prince Harry’s wedding to Markle, and the Sussexes were present for the christening of the youngest Cambridge child: Prince Louis. 

The birth of Baby Archie

Just about a year after Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry became husband and wife, they welcomed a son: Baby Archie Harrison. When Prince Harry spoke to the press later that day, he appeared to be over the moon regarding the arrival of his first child, describing the newborn as being just “to die for.”

According to Yahoo!, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan knew they wanted to become parents even before they were married. Soon after her relationship with Prince Harry started, Markle began telling people that she would “love” to have kids. With Prince Harry’s passion for children, it is no surprise that he was simply delighted at the prospect of becoming a father.

So, what was the petty remark that Prince Harry made about Prince William and Duchess Kate’s family that the future king and queen took offense to? Fox News reports that the Duke of Sussex recently revealed that he and his wife only want a “maximum” of two children. For a couple who loves kids, why wouldn’t they want more than that?

Well, it turns out that the reason is that they want to do their part for the environment. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Prince Harry discussed with Jane Goodall how an environmental threat is “terrifying” when you have children since as a parent you want to protect future generations. Many viewed his comments as throwing shade at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have three children.

Quite simply, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have not done their part for the environment lately. They’ve been talking the talk but Travel and Leisure reports that the Sussexes recently traveled by private jet several times in just under two weeks rather than taking a more environmentally-friendly commercial flight, something that the Cambridges opted to do. Given how they preach others to make environmentally sound decisions, claim to be environmentalists, and made passive comments about family planning for the environment, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting heat for their actions.
