Kim Kardashian is very open with her family life. She loves to share photos and videos of her three kids on social media, and we get an even bigger peek into their lives on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Unfortunately, because she’s so open, some people think that gives them an excuse to criticize and spread hate about her parenting skills.
Why are people so obsessed with grading her parenting? Does she deserve the hate? Let’s take a look at Kardashian’s parenting skills to answer that question for sure.
Haters mistakenly claimed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West left their sick baby
Sweet little Saint West had to be admitted to the hospital last December to be treated for pneumonia. He spent three nights under observation, with his parents by his side the entire time, and was released on December 30th.
While Kardashian and West stressed about their baby, trolls online attacked them for their parenting choices. The reason for all the drama? Kardashian posted a video for their New Year’s kiss to Instagram and haters claimed they had left Saint in the hospital to go party on New Year’s Eve.
Except there’s a problem with the claims: Saint was released on December 30th. So he was already home on New Year’s Eve. And the party his parents attended, from what we can tell in the Instagram video, seemed like a low-key affair. It may have even been at their own home. So, Kardashian and West didn’t actually leave Saint in the hospital to go party.
When Kardashian saw all the hate online, she wasn’t about to let it go. Instead, she posted a message to the trolls on Twitter, defending herself. She wrote, “I haven’t heard this BUT lets get this straight. I did not leave my son for one minute during his hospital stay. We were there Wednesday night to Saturday. NYE WAS SUNDAY NIGHT. People came over when he was already asleep for the night! Don’t even try me when it comes to my kids.”
Honestly, these people deserved to be called out for their assumptions.
Haters attacked Kardashian for a video of daughter Chicago
In another example of trolls leaping to conclusions about Kardashian’s parenting, they attacked her for a video that she posted of Chicago West. The video showed her with a snake wrapped around her shoulders and Kardashian captioned it, “My brave girl Chicago.”
The video was meant to showcase how brave Chicago was for handling a snake, something many of us adults would have trouble doing. But instead, haters had to attack Kardashian for any little reason they could. They claimed Chicago was being too rough with the snake and that Kardashian was doing nothing to stop it.
But the video shows nothing of the sort. The snake is perfectly safe and it appears that the handler is right there next to her, keeping an eye on things.
This just shows how Kardashian gets attacked for anything she posts. It could be the most benign thing ever, and haters would still find a reason to say that Kardashian is a bad parent over it.
Is Kardashian a bad parent?
Even though Kardashian is constantly criticized for her parenting, there’s nothing to suggest that she is a bad mom. Instead, we’re reminded quite often of her love for her children. We see on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and on her social media accounts that Kardashian spends a lot of time with them and takes them to do fun things.
The Kardashian kids are always out having adventures and living a great life, with plenty of hugs from mom and dad, as well as their aunts and extended family. Plus, whenever Kardashian talks about parenting in interviews, she has excellent advice and you can tell she really puts thought into what she’s doing as a mom.
It’s easy to see those kids are loved. No one is a perfect parent, but the Kardashians aren’t even close to being the worst. It’s just that they’re in the public eye, so they’re exposed to much more criticism than most people are. Any mom in that situation would be criticized, even the best mom in the world would be a terrible person to someone out there.
Trolls need to leave them alone because their hateful comments aren’t doing anything positive. It only makes the internet an even uglier place than it already is.
