Julia Roberts blasts parents of college admissions scandal - Page Six

Julia Roberts feels empathy for the children involved in the college admissions cheating scandal.

“That to me is so sad, because I feel, from an outsider, that it says a little bit, ‘I don’t have enough faith in you,’” Roberts, 51, said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada. The actress who has three children, Henry Daniel, 11, and Hazel and Phinnaeus, 14, added that she makes it a point to teach her kids basic life skills because “they have to run their own race.”

Roberts is one of many celebrities to speak out about the scandal. Others include Rob Lowe and “Breaking Bad” star Dean Norris, who tweeted that the bribes were “shameful.”

Actresses Felicity and Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been at the center of the scandal and are among the more than 50 people charged for allegedly paying bribes to get their children into top universities in the U.S.

Loughlin, 54, and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, face mail fraud charges for allegedly paying $500,000 to guarantee their daughters’ admission into the University of Southern California as crew athletes.

Huffman, 56, is accused of paying $15,000 to William “Rick “Singer to have someone take her daughter’s SATs and ensure a better score.
